How To Convert VCD Karaoke To DVD Karaoke

VCD Karaoke cannot be converted directly to DVD Karaoke. It involves lot of process. You can find lot of karaoke free download out there but here I listed some methods which is easier to do if you mastered the steps. It’s hard at the start but once you get the hang of it, it will be a piece of a cake.


1. Copy VCD karaoke files to a specific folder in your pc.

2. Install Sony Vegas Pro 10 and Sony DVD Architect software, if you have installed it already, then run the Sony Vegas. This will be the application we will use in converting VCD to DVD karaoke.

3. From Sony Vegas Pro 10, open the first VCD file you have copied to your pc. As example we use the file “Bad Romance.dat”. Once the file is open, video track and audio track will be displayed in a timeline.

4.) Insert another audio track copy the first audio track to the second audio track. Tutorials on using Sony Vegas Pro 10 and Sony DVD Architect is available in the help menu after you installed this application.

5.) Right click the first audio track then select channel and click Left channel only.

6.) Right click the second audio track then select channel and click Right channel only.

7.) In the first audio track, move the Pan slider 100% L.

8.) In the second audio track, move the Pan slider 100% R.

9.) Click File menu, select Render As. In Render As window, Select MainConcept MPEG-2(*.mpg). Select Template DVD NTSC, enter Filename “Bad Romance.mpg”. Click Custom button. On Custom window, select System tab and check "Save as separate elementary streams" checkbox then click OK. It return back to Render As window. Click Save. The result file should be “Bad Romance.m2v”.

10.) Mute the First Audio track, then click File menu, select Render As. In Render As window, Select Dolby Digital AC-3(*.ac3). Select Template Stereo DVD, enter Filename “Bad Romance Audio1.ac3”. Click Save. The result should be “Bad Romance Audio1.ac3”.

11.) Unmute the First Audio track and mute the second audio track, then click File menu, select Render As. In Render As window, Select Dolby Digital AC-3(*.ac3). Select Template Stereo DVD, enter Filename “Bad Romance Audio2.ac3. Click Save. The result should be “Bad Romance Audio2.ac3”.


12.) Close the file. Do not save.

13.) Repeat step 3 – 12 for the remaining karaoke files.

14.). Once step 3 – 12 has been applied to all karaoke files, Open Sony DVD Architect 4.0.

15.) Create New Project.

16.) Add the file “Bad Romance.m2v”. It will be shown on the timeline.

17.) Drag the “Bad Romance Audio1.ac3” and “Bad Romance Audio2.ac3” to the timeline. Each respective audio track will be created automatically right below the “Bad Romance.m2v” video track.

18.) Repeat step 16 – 17 for the remaining files. Click File menu. Select Make DVD. In Made DVD window, click Burn button. Check Current project. Click Next , Next, and then Finish.
